The application for Change Address (BIR Form # 1905) was filed on October 13. I was told that I would follow up after a week. However, it took the BIR to process in more days because the change involved change of Region also. There was a need to report to main office first before transferring to the present RDO. Therefore the normal one week was not enough. The Change Address was important so that the TIN of the Taxpayer would appear in the system of the RDO concerned.
Thankfully, the TIN number already appeared in the system when I called for follow up on the 30th. I hurried to go. The Change Address was the last requirement I needed so I could file application for registration (BIR Form # 1901). The other requirement were already checked for completeness by the Officer of the Day weeks ago.
Aside from BIR Form # 1901, the documents needed for Registering a Sole Proprietorship in BIR are photocopies of the following:
- Valid Identification like birth certificate showing the name, address and birth date of the proprietor;
- Certificate of Business Registration with the DTI;
- Mayor's Permit or duly received Application for Mayor's permit;
- Proof of payment of Annual Registration Fee; and
- Lease Contract if renting.
Business Registration with the BIR should be made within 30 days after registering the business with the DTI ( Department of Trade and Industry. This date would be the basis for computing the annual registration fee. While the Lease Contract would be the basis for computing the documentary stamps to be paid by the enterprise.
Straight to Window Number 4, I submitted all the documents for issuance of COR (Certificate of Registration). It was dated and signed received October 30. Since the coming days would be holidays (October 31, November 1 and 2 were Holidays). I was not given an exact date to come back for it. I was advised to follow up the coming Monday.
The process went smoothly and I were thankful to the Lord for the help and assistance of all the employees of BIR RDO #38. They were all friendly and accommodating. Hope the COR will be released soonest.
